Kirigami Clock

self production for Studio Wallaby

LONG TIME clock was inspired by kirigami, the Japanese art of folding and cutting paper. In kirigami, paper is both folded and cut, resulting in a three-dimensional design that stands out from the page. The clock is made from a single narrow strip of metal. The cutting and folding technique allows for the creation of Roman numerals on the clock's sides. As a result, the numerals themselves seem to leap out of the metal strip, creating a play of positive and negative areas. The clock is positioned 5 cm away from the wall and appears to be floating.

LONG TIME clock has been awarded the Iron A’ Design Award 2024 in the Furniture Design category.
